Tao Te Ching, Zhuangzi, and the Taoist canon

The Taoist canon (道藏) contains over 1,400 texts, but the foundational scriptures accessible to modern seekers are the Tao Te Ching and the Zhuangzi.

The Tao Te Ching (道德经), with its 81 concise chapters, is the most translated Chinese text after the Bible.

The Zhuangzi (庄子) is a collection of stories, parables, and philosophical dialogues that challenge conventional thinking.

The I Ching (易经), while predating Taoism, is deeply integrated into Taoist practice.

For those beginning their study, we recommend starting with the Tao Te Ching, then moving to the Zhuangzi.
